Sukabumi, ummi.ac.id – Universitas Muhammadiyah Sukabumi (UMMI) unequivocally expresses its stance regarding the upcoming 2024 General Election. In this statement, the Academic Community of UMMI, represented by the Rector, emphasizes that morality and noble character are fundamental principles for achieving honest, fair, and dignified elections. This declaration was made on Monday (05/02/2024) on the campus grounds of UMMI.

Rector of Universitas Muhammadiyah Sukabumi, Dr. Reny Sukmawani, M.P., expresses UMMI's strong desire to face this crucial moment in the nation's democracy.

"As part of a society concerned about the future of our nation, we, the Academic Community of Universitas Muhammadiyah Sukabumi, declare our full support for the conduct of the 2024 General Election. However, we want to emphasize that morality and noble character must be the primary foundation in every stage of the election process," she stated.

The Academic Community of UMMI is committed to actively participating in ensuring clean and dignified elections. Understanding that elections reflect the morality and integrity of a nation, UMMI also hopes that the democratic process can be conducted with transparency and honesty.

"We are ready to monitor the conduct of the 2024 elections. The active participation of students, lecturers, staff, and all elements of the academic community of Universitas Muhammadiyah Sukabumi is expected to contribute positively to ensuring the smoothness and fairness of these elections," she concluded.

Universitas Muhammadiyah Sukabumi also urges the entire society to respect differences of opinion, uphold democratic ethics, and undergo the electoral process with maturity. Through collective involvement, it is hoped that Indonesia can navigate the elections with dignity and justice.
